A focused post-congress herping program exploring two iconic lowland rainforest reserves—Kanneliya and Kottawa—in the Galle District. The tour is limited to 24 participants on a shared basis and pairs daytime and nocturnal sessions to maximize amphibian and reptile observations.
Transfer from Kandy to the Galle District (approx. 5 hours) and settle in before starting the first evening and night herping sessions inside lowland rainforest habitat.
Twin rainforest sessions with ample daylight and nocturnal coverage to encounter a wide range of amphibians and reptiles within Kanneliya and Kottawa reserves.
Wrap up with a final morning field session before departing to Colombo after lunch.
According to Sri Lankan Wildlife Law (FFPO): Carrying collecting bags, L hooks, catcher sticks, gloves, forceps or any equipment related to specimen collection (live or dead) is not allowed. Collecting or keeping any part of flora or fauna is strictly prohibited. All observations and photography must be done in situ. Ethical wildlife photography practices must be followed at all times. Please do not bring any equipment related to sample or DNA collection, or related chemicals.
